East rock was the destination of my morning bike rides to get my day started. At sunset it also gives you a wonderful view over the city and with the port in the far distance a lovely spot to end your day.

There are great views from the top. There wee many people just taking it easy, enjoying life. that's what this park seems to get you to do. the monument is also worth the trip up to the top. this is a must see for couples.

This park, is a must see, when visiting New Haven. The views are great. We enjoyed looking out over the New Haven sky line, and out at the harbor. The monument at the summit, was really impressive.

When I lived in New Haven, this park was definitely under-used, as was its sister park, West Rock. It's a lovely park to explore on foot or you can drive up to the top and get a great bird's eye view of the surrounding area.

This is one of the famous landmarks in New Haven. It is extraordinary for Geologists as it is a trap rock ridge and has a great geologic history. It also was once a place where folks came for a restful Sunday jaunt. The train brought...More

The road up to the monument was closed in March, but at the other end of the park there is a trail that goes up. There are large rock steps that are moderately difficult to navigate. I wouldn't suggest this route up for small children...More

There r many hikes you can take at the park. Most are gradual climbs. You can extend a hike by connecting to other hikes; but you are able to complete many in 45-75 minutes. Enjoy!
