Great variety of things to do: trail hiking up to memorial, options for dogs in river and off leash, nicely loated off Orange street and op to end your hike at one of the great gourmet groceries.

There are some good running / walking trails in the park. This park is easy to get to, and there is an open space area for people to picnic in. Great place to hang out with friends or by yourself.

East Rock Park is a sandstone formation left behind by glaciers. There is a road for cars going up one side and a road blocked from cars going up the other. The view out toward Long island Sound on a clear day is wonderful.

Took the hard way up which was stairs, it wasn't to bad and I'm not the most in shape person so that's saying a lot. We did take the easy way down. I would do it again regularly

We parked at the bottom of East Rock, and hoofed it to the top. The trails are a little confusing...we had hoped to take a trail to the top, but ended up on the road for much of the walk. The views at the top...More

East Rock Park offers exceptional views of New Haven, the harbor, and Long Island Sound. Long Island land mass, can often be seen on a clear day. Accessable by Car, bike, and walking trails.

Go at sunset and enjoy the view. You can see all the city and spend some time relaxing but don't expect anything amazing.

Nice park with playground, basketball court, good for dogs ... a local favorite, a few nice paths along the river leading up to the waterfall on Whitney Avenue...

There r many hikes you can take at the park. Most are gradual climbs. You can extend a hike by connecting to other hikes; but you are able to complete many in 45-75 minutes. Enjoy!
