Feeling devilish? Well, if you're in Connecticut, why not stop by the Satan's Kingdom State Recreation Area, on Route 44, just outside of New Hartford. I would do it on a hot day, because you'll be traveling on the Farmington River in tubes, kayaks, or canoes. It's quite a refreshing ride and a bus will pick you up at the... More

All the reviews are accurate. It's a long trip. It can be dangerous because a its a natural river but we decided the conditions were safe for our children (pretty slow mid summer). There are lots of teens. Some drinking even though there are signs everywhere saying no drinking. With that said, the facilities were nice. Tubes were good. My... More

very easy access to the river. In the summer lots of people in the middle fishing, but much better for fishing in the fall. However, very susceptible to warming of water if dam releases are cut back

I've been here several times over the years..The price keeps going up. You're basically just paying for a tube and a ride back to your car. If you have your own tube or raft a family of 5 can save $100....just get someone to pick you up at the end. My biggest problem was all the drunk teens camped out... More

A little pricy, but worth it. Rent a tube and float down the Farmington River, then get bussed back up. A couple sets of Rapids along the way, but nothing unsafe. The most "dangerous" spot has lifeguards attending.

The sparkling waters of the trout stream overhung with conifers makes this a delightful place to fish, picnic or just relax. Some parts of the dirt road running around the water are very narrow and one should drive cautiously so as not to go over the side.

This is a gorgeous park - there are numerous spots along the river, and a small hiking trail that leads to the lifeguard station for the river tubing. One word of caution - if you're bringing young kids, go early. There's a bit of a party atmosphere here on warm weekends, and lots of people who are struggling to stand... More

I was absolutely devastated by how much of a letdown it was. I expected ten-story walls of flame, and demons heckling me. Instead, I discovered that this establishment only catered to obese middle-aged men on pitifully inadequate rafts. I will not consider returning, unless management performs a ritual to open a portal to the netherworld.

I went here about 5 times in my last two years of high school, and we would spend about 8 hours total on the river, taking 3~4 rides each visit. Its half price for the second, and free for the third, etc, so obviously its better to stay for a long time. Its much better on a hot day, as... More
