Haight-Brown Vineyard takes great pride in being part of a wine industry in...

Haight-Brown Vineyard takes great pride in being part of a wine industry in Connecticut that is steadily building a reputation in the eyes of those who enjoy the world’s fine wines. Haight-Brown Vineyard, Inc. is Connecticut's oldest winery, opening its doors in 1975. The winery is located in Litchfield Ct. in the northwest part of the state . The Litchfield vineyard grows 45 –50 tons of grapes per year and produces Vinifera wines and French Hybrid blended wines. Retail wine is available for sale and includes the familiar Chardonnay, Merlot, Riesling etc., as well as seasonal varieties such as AppleCrannie, Spring Fling etc. Seasonal events begin with the Annual Barrel Tasting in April, followed by the Festival on the Farm in June, and our Fall Harvest Festival in September. Sales are predominantly from the winery, with some special label business and package store distribution in the local area. The company does not sell out-of-state. Call 860-567-4045 for additional information print and fax our online form . Haight-Brown Vineyard, LLC. is a founding member of the Connecticut WINE TRAIL , where one can plan a visit to the state’s fine wineries. A pleasant and well-stocked salesroom, staffed with courteous personnel, coupled with wine tasting awaits your visit.

We arrived on a Saturday; very crowded. Only to be told something totally different than what was said via telephone! Unable to bring in own food to eat; not made to feel very welcome at all! Would not return!!

My wife and I thought the winery was very comfortable and it's in a beautiful part of the state. We both sampled wines we liked, and there was one I really liked, but for the most part we thought their wines were okay. Keep in mind that wine tasting is a personal-taste thing so others may really enjoy wines that... More

Stopped by to get out passport stamped and have some wine. Friendly greeting. Delicious wines. Love the picnic red and the covertside white. The cheese plate goes great with the wines. Worth a stop.

This was our first of four wineries visited over the weekend. The building is nice and cozy and it has great staff and atmosphere. So it is a bit of a bummer the wine quality was not up to par. There is a mix of dry and semi sweet wines that have potential, but just don't quite deliver. Due to... More

Very glad you enjoyed your visit to the vineyard and the staff gave good service. Sorry to hear your reaction to our wines. Our wine maker has been getting positive external recognition. I'd like to invite you to cone back and have a personal tasting with the wine maker. He (and we) takes these comments very seriously and has offered... More

They are serving the public like a farmer would slop the hogs at Haight Brown. We did the tasting and our server was vacant and mechanical. The tasting room bustled as customers were pushed through the flights. We did a cheese plate and a chocolate plate which were very good. The wine unfortunately ranged from poor to undrinkable. The Chardonnay... More

We came here on a fall afternoon to do wine tasting and found this to be very fun and relaxing. We spent about 2 hours and enjoyed some cheese and sausage with the tasting of 8 wines for $10. The wines are good. The selection and the amount of wine poured is better than other wineries we visited on the... More

We stopped at the Haigh Brown vineyards and were treated to 6 different kinds of wine all made there. 3 were red wines and 3 were white wines. All very tasty but I myself liked the wine that was made from apples the best. We learned all about the different wines that are grown there , It was a very... More

We were in the NW hills and decided to return as we had fond memories from our previous visit a few years back. This time not so much - we chose a glass instead of a tasting, partially because the cost was higher than what we like to spend. They have a nice deck overlooking the vineyards so that was... More

Visited here with some friends to do a wine tasting. Initially I was a little thrown off by the entrance- it looked closed and a little rough, but was pleasantly surprised by the upstairs. This vineyard is a little different than some other vineyards I've been to. The look and feel is very rustic and perfect for the Litchfield area.... More
