Great hiking with rest spots

Relaxing or can also do harder trails. Perfect to have leashed dog with us too. The dogs all have a good time sniffing the ground and each other

I love "the giant" . Our family has introduced many people to this park. Great hiking trails, it is getting a little too well known these days, I try to go on weekdays when it is less crowded.

The blue trail along the ridge is my favorite but the pathway to the small castle doesn't disappoint. It's a 1.6 mile walk with a rewarding little castle at the end. Pack a lunch and have a picnic when you get there! The pathway is gravel and very easy to walk. It has a slight incline but nothing to steep.

Love this state park. Beautiful hiking trails. Try the Castle trail for a nice beginner trail or one of the more advanced colors for more of a challenge.

Our family with small children did the hike up to the Tower on a beautiful fall Saturday. Nice wide path, gentle incline. Great for kids. Even saw some strollers (or carriages, as they say in CT). Beautiful view from the top & the colors were spectacular. The only negative would be that we went on a Saturday so it was... More

We decided to take the hike to the top. Well it was a nice 1.6 mile climb along the great trail. Great look out tower at the top. You can see along way from the top of the tower.

This place is gorgeous. Nice climb to the top. The trails are great and easy to follow. And the little castle thing at the top is so cool. Be careful if it's rainy or wet- the floors get slick.

The old "Sleeping Giant" has been a popular site for hikers tog et outdoors for decades. It is so popular that it can be over populated especially on nice weekend days. Located next to Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT parking is at a prime and sadly the parks volunteers have their work cut out for then removing trash and doing... More

Sleeping Giant State Park is a great place to get some exercise and enjoy the views from various vantage points. Take the kids and the dogs if you so choose. There are easy trails and expert trails. Please exercise extreme caution when walking in the park, it's easy to twist an ankle. Keep an eye on the kiddos, one wrong... More

Small state park but great assortment of hikes for all levels. leisure walk up the paved walkway to the fort at the top or challenge yourself on the blue trail. Find the map online and find the alternate parking sites at different areas around the park. I encountered a couple who had paid $9 for parking at the main lot... More
