I was a student at the Hartford Art School with Cortlandt Hull and we both had monsters in common. We would pass each other in the hallways and always stop to talk about horror flicks especially the old Universal goodies. When I found out he had built his own little shop of horrors, I couldn't wait to go--so I have been... We learned about this event on the web and are so happy we were able to attend. There is a six dollar entry fee (yes, six--how affordable is that??), and you get a tour of Mr. Hull's personal collection of movie memorabilia from most of the classic horror films of the last century. In addition, they show the old movies... More

This past October I finally made it to the Witches Dungeon Museum at the Bristol Historical Society in Bristol CT. This is a collection of 16 or so hand sculpted classic horror movie characters created by Cortlandt Hull whose great Uncle Henry, starred as the title character in Universal's The Werewolf of London. Cortlandt is on hand at the attraction... More

Drove here all the way from VT one evening, as my husband is a big classic horror movie fan. It was worth the drive, especially for him. Quite an impressive display of items & interesting history to follow. The staff are all very friendly & helpful. It seems quite popular, as there was a big line, which is also largely... More

Does a wonderful job for thrifty family movies and presentations. I highly recommend Bristol citizens to support and attend cultural, historical and civic events there. Halloween specials are marvelous

This place brings a smile to my face each time I think of it. The lines are long during Halloween but, it is definitely worth the wait. There are probably larger and more sophisticated scary places to visit but, this place just happens to be in a suburban neighborhood which gives it a small town feel. Older children may find... I've been going to the Witch's Dungeon since I was in grammar school - Cortlandt Hull, the owner and developer of the Dungeon, was in school with my brother. It was great at its inception and has grown magnificently over the years. A first-rate venue.

I'm a Halloween and horror fan so this was up my alley when I was looking up places in CT to visit. It was nothing grand though--the wax museum in Salem, MA is way better. They have like 15 figurines and some movie items that they have now placed in the historical museum (don't punch the name into GPS since... More

this is a very unique attraction dont let the cheesy outdoor appearance fool you. inside there are MANY unique props from MANY classic horror movies. It is definitely worth waiting in line for. if you have children be prepared to wait in line for up to 30 minutes and there is no public bathrooms. this is great for all ages... More
