We have been coming to Blue Jay Orchards for over 30 years. It's a wonderful family-oriented farm market. From apple & pumpkin picking in the early fall (until Halloween) to the market that sells locally produced goods from their own apples to crafts & toys. They have their own bee hives for honey & have a local producer of maple... More

A beautiful early October Saturday, we took the family to apple pick and get some treats in the store. The apple orchard trees were closed off, but they had large containers to pick your own from that were collected by the farm. Inside the store there are fresh baked goods, honey, maple syrup and other treats and preserves. I believe... More

Apple picking in the fall at this orchard is very festive. There is ample parking and the orchard store is spacious and the grounds roomy; and a pleasant experience for all! This has been a great staple for little children and New England. traditional apple picking is a fun activity to do with your family. The staff is very knowledgable... More

Blue Jay is a nice drive if you're coming from coastal Fairfield County... feels as if you're driving into the countryside even though if you go just a bit further you end up in the heart of Danbury :). Apple picking, hay rides, large pumpkin patch, and a relatively expansive country store with a good selection of farm products. Stereo-typically... More

Best time to visit is late summer and fall when apples and other fruits and pumpkins are ready for picking. Pick your own or buy from the large indoor fruit stand. Fresh apple pies also for sale. There are orchard hayrides for families.

The chance to pick your own apples is a great experience, especially for city dwellers and kids who have little sense of how fruits get to the table. I grew up in this area, and appreciate that they are still a going small business.
