Down Home Experience

Lots of memorabilia to stir the memory. A step back in time. Not fancy, but friendly. And take your time. You'll see something from your past.

I am proud to claim a familial relationship to the folks who currently run this museum, they are my cousins. Our grandparents and great grandparents were pioneers in Walden and many of the items came from family collections and albums. I am so very very pleased that my North Park family members generously contributed valuable and personal items to the... More

We arrived a bit early and went for a walk around the small town. Saw a sign for this museum located two blocks off the main street. We were greeted by a friendly lifelong resident lady who was very knowledgeable. This museum is huge. Much much larger than it appears and filled with local items gathered throughout the years. Highly... More

It was an average small town museum, but it was quite large in size. There were some interesting things, but a lot of stuff that should be somewhere else. It is run by volunteers, and there was a nice older gentleman who was manning the shop. We donated. I don't imagine it is a stop that we would do again.... More

I was amazed at how many artifacts this little museum had, given the size of the town. You could easily spend hours here. Admission is free, but they ask for a donation. I will have to go back there the next time I'm in Walden.

Arrived at 3:30 pm on a Saturday in August - the doors were already padlocked. Too bad, since its the only attraction in "Downtown Walden".

A lovely museum filled with wonderful things from the past. Not a slick presentation, you get a real feel for the area and community. Highly recommend a visit.

This is the best little museum I've been to in a long time. I went there today with my grandfather and we both enjoyed it a lot. He had been there a few times prior. There is so much history and little left to question as everything, even the photographs are labeled. This is a hidden gem of a place.... More

We stopped in here thinking that we would just kill 20 minutes or so and be on our way. Wow, were we wrong. The collection is quite large and after an hour we still had not seen it all. Unfortunately, we didn't have the time in our schedule to stay longer but wanted to. The people were friendly and helpful... More

This unique museum gives a real glimpse into all aspects of life in North Park since the homesteaders of the 1800's. John and Hazel Gresham, lifelong residents, spent a good part of their lives accumulating items, getting the museum off the ground, and leaving a historical legacy of the people and the land of North Park--filling 27 rooms are all...
