I'm a sucker for a nice botanical garden. Besides appreciating the beauty, they are usually a great place for pictures. Since I was traveling with just my wife, I thought this would be a nice, romantic place to visit. Well, it definitely would have been,...More

For something different during your time in Vail, visit the Alpine Gardens and go snowshoeing. Staff is very friendly and also offers guided tours once a week or you can do a self guided tour.

Very pretty gardens and great playground in the area around it. Nicely done - worth a visit in the summertime

What a great place. So much information but very easy to take it in. A lot of interactive things for children. Didn't actually see the gardens as it was snowing but the model and pictures indicate that it would be well worth seeing.

If you go by the bridge by the entrance to the parking garage you can access a great trail along the river. This will take you to the gardens and a really exceptional park for kids.

I agree with those who answered one hour. We did not visit with kids, but we spent about an hour in the park. I did not read every word of the interesting signs, but read enough to get the gist of them. The gift shop is... More

There will be plants to see the end of May, but more later in the summer. This year there were late snowstorms. However, the Betty Ford Gardens also has an enclosed building with lots of reference material and it well... More
