My husband and I had a local driver to take us up to the falls and drop us and then pick us back up. The snow was deep, the trails were pretty well marked and the views spectacular. We hiked (in heavy snow gear) all the way to the falls, to the base, hoping to see ice climbers, but they... More

Trail sorrows the creek with so many falls. We went in May and it was perfect weather. Moderately challenging hike due to ascent but well maintained. We loved it!

Great hikes and beautiful scenery and relaxing environment. Must see while you're in Steamboat. In summer go early for good views, quite and cool. Don't forget water! We did it with our 2 boys (ages 6 & 7) and they had a ball too. There's an old mine not far which is another great hike and fun to see.

If you come to the Boat, this is a must see. Summer or winter it is beautiful! Early summer is a delight as the snow melt is really flowing!

Fish Creek's falls are beautiful any time of the year, but especially if you can hit them during the spring melt in May and June when torrents of snow melt thunder over the cliff. There is a bridge at the bottom to observe them from, and then if you have the energy, continue a hike up and up to the... More

We hiked up to the falls in early January. It is a fairly easy hike along clearly marked paths. There had been lots of recent snow so the falls were frozen and the scenery was beautiful. If you go, consider snowshoeing. We saw several people wearing them and regretted not doing it ourselves. We hiked in regular boots and it... More

This was perfect for my friend and I who are inexperienced hikers. We had a lot of fun. It was not difficult at all. We went farther on the hike past the falls and it was well worth the sore legs the next day.

Fourth year to visit Fish Creek Falls. Amazing beauty every time, but slightly different because of the time of the season. Totally frozen exterior this time. Yet, could hear the water under the ice. I have only gone in the winter. Now I want to see it in the spring or summer or fall. Hopefully all three at some point... More

While you are there, be sure to read the uplifting story of how this park became public. In late July, it was hot and the park was relatively crowded so parking was not plentiful and we had to carry water with us, but the falls are lovely and the creak was fun to splash in. Would've made a lovely picnic... More

Very short trails, but pretty area with view of frozen falls. Lots of people with dogs on the trail, and got to watch some crazy ice climbers scale the falls, too. Need a car to get there from town.
