The falls are in a narrow canyon. The falls face due West. Therefore, the falls are in shadow during much of the day in mid-Winter. Photos of the falls will be a disappointment at this time. Best to come when warmer, sun angle is higher...More

In the summer on a beautiful day as you approach the falls you begin to feel its refreshing breeze that it produces. You can feel the rush of cooled air and feel the power of the rushing water. Its awesome and worth the short walk.

A short but pretty drive from town, this is a must to visit for any nature lover/hiker. Ample parking, small entrance fee and a not too difficult trail. Several great spots to get photos of the Falls and the view from the bridge is spectacular....More

Highly recommend visiting the falls, and if you have the opportunity to visit it at different times of the year do it. It changes and is always beautiful.

There is a paved trail to both the top and the bottom as well as nicely built viewing areas. The trails get icy so wear good shoes in the winter. Totally worth the short trip out of town! Small fee to use the area though...More

This was a beautiful hike! The waterfall was frozen (went in January) but it was still amazing to see. The only thing was that it was a bit slippery on the trails because it was all iced over, so wear proper footwear. Other than that,...More

To the falls is a very short walk . It was nice to take the dogs on the snow path and deep snow but there is not much than that , at least in winter . Summer looks like a fun place to do picnic

Trail is part of the Routt National Forest. I would check with them first.
