Michael Constantine at San Juan Backcountry is the best tour guide that I have ever had at anything, bar none. Over and above the spectacular views that we saw (definitely bring a camera), Michael has an extensive knowledge of the San Juan Mountains, so it was an extremely informative and interesting tour. He also gave us valuable advice on what... More

This was our 4th time to rent a jeep to take into the CO back country. However, it was the first time to rent with San Juan Backcountry. We were very pleased with them. We reserved ahead of time, showed up and got the pre-rental do's & don'ts, then headed out for the next 7.5hrs. Considering that we'd done the... More

We've rented a Jeep from San Juan Backcountry seven times now and never had a breakdown, flat tire, or other problem. We've taken their Jeeps over Stoney, Engineer, and Cinnamon passes and all over the San Juan mountains near SIlverton and always had a good time. Alex and Taylor were friendly and professional and made the rental process easy.

We booked a 1/2 day guided tour with our kids; 11 and 9. We rented 2 side-by-sides. They were Can-Am Commanders, preferred because they are hands down the leader in the ATV industry. The checkin was easy; staff was super nice. Helmets could use an upgrade though. Our guide was Soren. He was an amazing guide who was receptive to... More

We took the bus to Silverton and Tony met us and showed my husband how to drive the ATV. We were a little out of our element, so it was really fun to drive right through the running creek and get wet and splattered with mud and then get snowed on when we reached Animas Forks. We had a huge... More

We spent a couple of days in Silverton, CO. And didn't know which to do and we decided to take the San Juan back country tour. We had Michael as our guide. Let me just say that Michael made this trip not only exciting but he was well educated and informed of the area. He was also incredible with showing... More

Visited Silverton on a day trip while in Durango. Pre made my reservation. Had a mix up,but turned out ok. Very laid back business atmosphere. Got there a little early was told to hang out, went outside to sit on the bench no one came to get me and I almost missed my ride. Luckily went inside to check what... More

We're more hikers than 4 wheel enthusiast but one of our friend really wanted to drive around the mountains so we have it a try. The rental process is fairly quick and the drive was fun with plenty of great views and a few very exciting dips and climbs on the roads. Being from New Orleans I was a little... More
