I am on this road at least monthly. The scenery is pretty in every season. Not a good road in the snow and cell phone service is spotty. Plan to drive more slowly to watch for deer and elk.

Nice drive and beautiful views. However, didn't seem to be much of anywhere to pull over and take some photos.

Bishop's Castle - how could any one man do this?? It's fascinating to see this stone work. No one around - just us and an opportunity to explore this wonder or stone work.

Beautiful drive. You'll go up and down winding mountain roads. There was very little traffic out there too! Great way to get off the beaten path.

We travelled this Byway on Highway 96 into Westcliffe, on an unusually cool and rainy day in early May. There was very little traffic. The road needs some improvement. There are beautiful rolling green hills as you head west. Westcliffe is a one-street town good...More

The Visitors information Center in Pueblo gave us an excellent guidebook with map, pictures, history, and information about the sights on this paved, two-lane loop through Pueblo, Colorado City, and Westcliffe. We didn't stop to visit the sites, but the scenery was well worth the drive--especially...More
