Description:

As Colorado's first and most bee-loved meadery, Meadery of the Rockies...

As Colorado's first and most bee-loved meadery, Meadery of the Rockies makes an array of honey based wines. We start with pure, raw Orange Blossom honey, then ferment it. We also craft fruit 'n honey wines. They're blends of mead and fruit wines such as blackberry, strawberry & peach. We also carry fortified dessert wines. Mead is one of the oldest alcoholic drinks known to man and has a rich and interesting history. Stop in to our tasting room in the heart of Palisade, CO to learn more and have complimentary tastes of our mead.

Stopped by after a visit across the street for something a little different. Tried 3 different wines made with honey. Maybe too sweet for my taste however my Wife enjoyed her choices and we made a few purchases. If you like sweet wines this is a must stop. If not enjoy several of the other wineries in the area.

This place has a good atmosphere with friendly servers. Five free samples makes it easy to pick just what you like before you buy. A comment paper would be nice to keep track of what was our favorite but other than that is was perfect!

If you love mead, or have not tried honey wine before, you should stop by this location. It is right across the street from Plum Creek winery in the middle of Palisade. They have a large selection of meads to choose from. They were very helpful when it came to instructing us which ones we might like. The raspberry chocolate... More

We have visited this Meadery twice. If you don't know what Mead is go find out. Love the people there and the mead selection to taste. The gift selection is also tops. Great place to shop for gifts to take home.

No need for me to tell you what we like; they let you try several choices. They are all very tasty, some lighter and others sweeter. The meads make good gifts and there are dozens of other bee-related items for purchase as well. The staff know their products and their town and are patient in answering questions and helping with... Had a lovely time tasting some delicious beverages. Even purchased a few, for my self and as gifts. It's pretty cool here and the lady at the counter was very helpful and friendly. I recommend this to all my friends going to visit the area.

Wonderful place to visit! Such an array of things to taste (and purchase to take home!) Loved the Blackberry Satin! Though we have visited the Meadery before, we were served Blackberry Satin at the French Restaurant in downtown Grand Junction when we inquired about after dinner drinks. As it turns out, they had just received a bottle of Blackberry Satin... More

Hello Lyn729! Thank you for writing such a wonderful review! We agree - there is nothing like mead. Whether you go for the drier variety to accompany fish or chicken, the fruit blends to enjoy with spicy foods or bar-b-q, or the dessert meads after a wonderful meal, mead is a little slice of heaven! Please come and visit again!... More

It's mead, not wine, so it's honey-based and generally a lot sweeter than wine. Their fruit meads are interesting. Not expensive, and the staff are informative and fun.

Hello JoMKess! Thank you so much for your recent review of The Meadery of the Rockies! Sweet stuff indeed!
