We happened to stumble upon these falls on the way from Colorado Springs to Mesa Verde. So glad we stopped! The falls were beautiful and there was a nice hike from the bottom of the falls to the top. Some parts were steep so take...More
The trail up was a nice climb. There used to be restrooms at the site but they have been removed. Saw one hiker with toilet paper, she must have found a stump. No trash was seen on the trail and view was great.
Right off the highway, with interpretive signs (including how this is the starting point of the Colorado River ... hard to imagine!). A short .25 mile walk up with some optional detours. Relaxing & easy for kids to negotiate, but beware -- there are some...More
I had never heard of this waterfall, even though I live in CO. I had no idea what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. A short and relatively easy hike to the falls and you are rewarded with a spectacular view worthy of many photos....More

Treasure Falls is definitely worth the short hike. If you hike all the way up to the falls it can be a bit slippery because its wet. The view from the bridge just below the falls is awesome. It's a great place for pictures too....More
It is right before Wolf Creek Pass. Thank goodness for other trip advisors to bring it to our attention! It is has a nice pull off and is a 5-10 minute walk up to the overlook. One of the most spectacular Falls we've seen. Stunning

I would imagine regular hours as you do not want to be there too early or late. Go when the sun is shining as it's too slippery and dangerous at night. You will not find many safeguards anywhere there or elsewhere. Not to say Colorado is dangerous, but their idea of a safe trail is different than where most people are from. Wear hiking boots, and guard your unit.
