It's always a good day for a soak in the clear warm waters of the Ouray Hot Springs Pool! The hot springs of Ouray have been enjoyed since at least the 14th century when native Ute Indians used the naturally hot clear water for healing. Settlers came to the area in the late 1800's in search of gold and precious minerals, and many found comfort in the natural hot springs. The current swimming pool was constructed in the 1920's and has been a favorite destination ever since. Seven different springs supply the pool with water. At the source some of this water is 150 degrees! The pool consists of several sections maintained at different temperatures for different tastes. The hot section is approximately 104 degrees, and a soaking section, perfect for families and prolonged soaking, is typically 95 degrees, or so. The lap lanes and deep section are usually about 80 degrees in the summer and fall, and cooler than that in the winter months when there is snow on the ground. The Ouray Hot Springs Swimming Pool is an outdoor pool open all year. Many people enjoy the pool the most in the winter, after a day spent ice climbing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, skating on the local ice rink (skates are available to rent at the Hot Springs Pool), or simply as a place to relax and enjoy the splendid scenery of the San Juan Mountains.

Since the $9 million remodel, this place is a clean, fun pool to visit. There are multiple pools with multiple temperature choices to choose from. It is worth the price for a family to go for half a day even. There is a pool for...More

These hot springs were fabulous for their amazing views of the nearby mountains; it was only a shame that the hot springs weren't as hot as they usually are. While we did receive a discount for this, it was more like hanging out in a...More

The new renovation of the pool is just awesome! The pool is a popular place, so naturally it is well used, or as some would say crowded, but it is still awesome for those of us who love swimming & soaking. New lap lanes are...More

The Ouray Hot Springs was an amazing place to relax and unwind, many different temperature pools for every taste. Kids, under age 13, are required to take a swim test to access the higher level features of a rock climbing wall (that drops into deep...More

I've been coming to this pool for over 30 years and have great memories here. They have recently remodeled the pool and it looks great. Unfortunately it's becoming too pricy for a family to go. Also, if you have a child between the ages of...More

This is a great pool, not only is it a comfortable temperature in the main pool but it has hotter pools too. My 4 year old son loves it because the main pool has enough shallow area to play in and he can use his...More

The reason I'm giving this 3 stars instead of 1 star is because I've been coming here for 30 years and have always loved it. However, this year, I feel like they need to put their heads together before the busy week of 4th of...More

The construction seems to be done on the pools, but there is a lot of construction material and equipment outside of the pool area and parking lot. They offered a discount because the hot pools were not at there usual temperature. They were still hot....More

The pools were under renovation when we were there so as a result we were given half off admission. We had a great time and will definitely have to come back when tbe renovstions are complete.

When we were there last year they allowed us to bring in lunch and drinks. They do not allow glass containers for obvious reasons. Adults are $12 a day or you can buy punch passes and save some money to go on multiple days... More
