Set aside at least 2 hours and prepare to be overwhelmed when you enter the Museum of the Mountain West. The artifact list is extensive. Few items are behind glass, so restrain yourself. Buildings were uprooted from their locales in the Montrose-Delta area and reset into a new landscape. Several buildings are still in the process of restoration, so there... More

A comprehensive collection of vintage artefacts, papers and restored buildings. The admission includes a two - two and a half hour tour from an enthusiastic volunteer, which would enhance the visit experience for most people but might not be suitable for people with less time or wanting to drop in

We had a great time on the two hour guided tour. Our tour guide did an excellent job. Our 9 year old son enjoyed learning about the west. They have a great assortment of artifacts and stories that make history come alive. It's $10/adult and $5 for kids. A family pass is $25/year.

What a great place to see! Enjoyed learning about the wild west history and appreciated the fact that everything was authentic. Glad to see that there are still people that are trying to preserve our past.

There was so much to see, and every walk of life was presented there complete with tools and letters and maps, clothing, furniture...It was all fascinating and our tour guide was knowledgeable and had a sense of humor! We all so enjoyed the tour.

We were thrilled with the extensive collection of Western USA memorabilia. Our tour guide was most knowledgeable. We even got to meet the owner/ curator Mr Fike, a fascinating gentleman. Even our 13 YO granddaughter enjoyed the visit. I highly recommend this museum.

I truly enjoyed visiting this museum and I highly recommend it! It was one of the better tours I ever had in my life. The price was $10 and you get a personalized walking historical experience. The gentlemen who toured me was knowledgeable, witty and made the tour fun. A must do for all ages!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review of our Museum. We are proud of our volunteer Docents (tour guides). They each give a unique tour based on their love of different aspects of History. Some are train buffs, some are gun experts, some have learned and educated themselves on our portion of history since becoming... More

Well worth the $10 per person we paid upon arrival. We were entertained, educated and amazed at our guided tour throughout the entire interior and exterior of the Museum buildings. Our guide was Mike and he made our tour fascinating, educational and fun. You will need to schedule about 2 hours for the tour. We even were permitted to go... More

This is a must stop. Doesn't look like much from the road but that big steel has a whole recreated block on old time western shops. The proprietor is a wealth of knowledge.

Wow, just wow. This place is an absolute delight!!! They have an unbelievable number of items on display, and I love that they have created "settings" for their displays. Rather than just display items you would find in a general store, or items from a dentist's office, they actually built a general store and a dentist's office, so you can... More
