Driving out of the Brecons to Aberdulais, happened to chance across the Cefn Coed Colliery. Stunning preserved local mining pit head gear. Can be seen for miles around. Well worth stopping off for a look.

We really enjoyed our afternoon, a warm welcome and plenty to see and learn about. A lot of the exhibits are under cover so no problem if it rains. Very atmospheric.

Absolutely fabulous place to visit for educational and social history purposes. Extremely friendly staff who couldn’t do enough to make the visit enjoyable and fun. A treasure which may be currently at risk which would be a tragedy.

As a family, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. It was really interesting and we learned a lot from the very helpful and knowledgeable volunteers and staff. We struggled to get the kids to come home. I would highly recommend.
