I've ridden this train twice and both times I loved it. It's a unique experience that you will not get most places. The tour guides are excellent and the views are good. We saw wildlife both times. Make sure you arrive early and pay attention to the time limits they give you. This is a must see.

With only a few cog trains left in the US, why not go to the highest in the world. To the top of Pike's Peak and back, running every season of the year, this train has become an iconic symbol in Cog Train history. That is what attracted me the most when looking for things to do in Colorado Springs.... More

My daughter and I took the Cog Railway up to Pikes Peak. Smooth train ride and very informative conductor. Glad we brought our jackets because the temperature dropped and it was very cold on top of the mountain. The views were incredible. We could see out to Kansas. Unfortunately I suffered from altitude sickness when we reached the top. We... More

The views are amazing. At times you are able to see Colorado Springs and in the distance Kansas is visible. When you are told to stay seated the operator is serious. The climb is STEEP. If possible sit on the side of the train that has three seats. A few miles up the views are much better on that side.... More

We seen a lot of animals on the trip up. About half way to the top it began to snow and we didn't see much wildlife on the way down. This was in late June. When we started it was pretty nice at the bottom but by the time we got to the top the weather was cold, snowing and... More

We made our reservation over the phone about 3 weeks before our trip today. The train was packed. The conductor did a great job explaining the history and special spots on the way up the mountain. We worried about having high altitude sickness as some other reviews have mentioned. We were totally fine. I think it is due to the... More

We are new to the Colorado Springs, CO area. So far, we've taken the Cog Railway 3 times. Each time, we were lucky to have reached the summit of Pike's Peak (in March, November and December of 2016). Each train from the station to Pike's Peak contains 1 or 2 cars. There is a single engineer and a single conductor... More

Took the family up on our Christmas vacation. It was really fun! Everyone really enjoyed it especially when we got to the top and got off the train. It was -6 and we froze our tails off! Dress warm and relax, it's not a fast tour. Worth the money, something not everyone can say they have done.

Took my family on the train ride up to pikes peek. Made our reservations online it was very easy. Got to the location checked in and got our tickets. Went to the waiting room they have. Train is very roomy , but the wooden chairs get a little uncomfortable towards the end. Views are amazing and the guide on the... More
