Just returned from a trip on the Cog Railway. I've been to Pikes Peak many years ago but via car on the road (that's really scary!). The cog is a fun trip but pricey for the 6 of us. Again, worth the price to go...More

The cog railway was a relaxing way to spend a few hours in Manitou Springs. The train sets off through tree lined tracks before breaking through the tree line for spectacular views of the surrounding area and states. The top of the mountain has a...More

We enjoyed our trip to Pikes Peak via the cog railway. At $40, it is very reasonable and the conductor very knowledgeable. Still, there are room for improvements. We had originally made our reservations. When it was time to check in, there are three windows...More

Hi there, Thank you for your review. We actually do have a queue system like that here in the ticket office. The middle window is used primarily for customers with existing reservations. Sometimes customers with existing reservations need to pay for a parking pass, so...More

How can one be in Denver and not go see Pike's Peak? That's what we thought. Bought our tickets about six weeks in advance. Beautiful day and a small snow flurry. I did not drink water and felt a little woozy as soon as I...More

Scenic trainride was fun for the whole family. Wish we had more time at the top, but it's because of the altitude. The donuts at the top are amazing!

Although you can drive up to Pike's Peak, the road is very curvy and takes about 1.5 hours to drive. The railroad takes about the same amount of time, but allows everyone to enjoy the view. Our conductor acted as tour guide, informing us of...More

You can't park until 30 minutes before the time but tickets have to be picked up at the same time. They should work out a better system, even it it's pushing the times apart slightly more to get the first group out. The train ride...More

Hi there, Thank you for your review. Our parking lot does try to coordinate parking train customers with returning train customers, since our parking is somewhat limited. Sometimes the window to park is smaller if a returning train is delayed. We are glad to hear...More

Hi there, Thank you for your question. Altitude effects everyone differently and is mainly caused from dehydration. You will lose over a liter of water just from sitting on the train while gaining elevation. The oxygen we... More
