Discovered in 1881, Cave of the Winds has been a premier Colorado attraction for more than a century. Explore amazing caverns, experience total cave darkness, and marvel at the beauty of formations hundreds of thousands of years old. Then step outside and walk on the wind on the Wind Walker Challenge Course, fly like a bat on the Bat-a-Pult Zip Line, and dive into Williams Canyon on the one of a kind aerial dive ride, the TERROR-Dactyl. Lots of family fun, amazing views and memories to last a lifetime!

Excellent tour and lots of fun Caving 101. Plenty of nice tight spots. I'm now looking into joining a local grotto or the NSS.

This october was our first visit. Four long friends from florida traveled all the way to colorado. We had every intention of doing the terror dactyle and of course we did. It was awesome.

We enjoyed the tour. We had been on the same tour years ago. The entrance was different. Unfortunately, because of where you enter for the lantern tour now, not many older or physically challenged people could do that tour having to climb up a rather...More

We have been in a few other caves that were basically nothing more than a tourist trap and not much of a cave at all. We were pleasantly surprised at how extensive Cave of the Winds was and enjoyed it very much. Our young guide...More

We arrived right at opening, and had plenty of time to walk through the gift shop before out tour. We planned to do the "lantern" tour, but the guide talked up the spooky, scary, not-a-boring-tour side and our 7 year old got scared. So, we...More

It is not one of the caves that blows your mind away. There are no big stalactites and stalagmites formation - you have to really look careful for them.

Took the lantern tour with Jim. Very knowledgeable. Never been on a cave tour with candle lanterns and it was very cool! Not for folks who are out of shape, a fair amount of walking crouched over.

The Discovery Tour is a fun 45 minutes tour of the cave. The Lantern Tour is a bit tight and dark, which focuses more on folklore because you really can’t see formations inside the cave that well since the lanterns are just oil wicks in...More

Hi Sherlb! Thank you for asking. The average time to do the Discovery Tour and all of the rides would be about 2 - 2.5 hours. However, if you plan on coming in the summer, specifically July, it could take closer to 4 hours... More
