What a great journey, 2 1/2 hours riding the rails to the Continental Divide! We took our trip in late August, just in time to see the first snowfall on the mountains, the weather was crisp and beautiful. I would highly recommend paying a bit extra to have the caboose to yourself, it really helped make our trip special as... More

Leadville, CO is rich with it's history of the Wild West, mining industry and scenic scales with high adventure activities all year round. We have busted both when our kids were young and again as teens. Fun in all seasons.. Railroad trip is a great way to see the landscape!!I

I've ridden the rails and enjoyed the spectacular vistas of the Pikes Peak tramway and the Durango/Silverton narrow gauge railroad. But the daily, 2 1/2-hour round excursions of the Leadville, Colorado & Southern Railroad through the scenic Rocky Mountains are every bit as exhilarating. Originating in "the highest incorporated cirty in North America," the LC&S takes passengers along the old... More

We came in the end of August just in time to for the mountains to get their first coating of snow it was truly gorgeous. Make sure to get a seat on the down hill side of the train, as there is nothing much to see on the uphill side of the train [even though the conductor with tell you... More

This was an interesting train trip. We learned a lot about the old days in the Leadville area. There vere plenty of possibilities to take photographs, and a splendid view.

When in Leadville this is one of the place to stop and take the train ride. It is a unique experience if you have not gone thru the mountains in a train. Plenty of free parking

This is one of the best mountain train rides in Colorado. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The amenities on board are top shelf and add to the comfort of the experience. You have the opportunity to see a variety of wildlife including deer and black bear and get off the train at the old water tank for a photo... More

This was a fun train ride. Very scenic trip into mountains outside of Leadville. Also a good history lesson of the area. Was nearly 3 hours. A very good value for the money.

WOW! Train ride lasts 2-1/2 hours. Train ride up the mountain and back again. Fantastic views but best views are on the opposite side of entry on the train. There are covered areas, enclosed areas and open areas to sit. You are literally riding on the edge of the mountain. I believe the price was $37.50. the depot is very... More
