Was on a back packing trip with some students and really enjoyed the climb, the view, and the history. Hit both peaks and climb Treasure Vault as well. The old mine about half way up is really cool.

Mosquito pass is not for the faint of heart. It is not for amateurs. But it is a fun long ride from Alma to Leadville. It is a bumpy, narrow shelf road and NOT a gravel road. High clearance vehicle highly recommended as well as...More

This is a fun off-road trail. 4 wheel drive definitely recommended. It can get bumpy, rocky and tight at some points. The views are great. Makes for a fun trip from Fairplay to Leadville!

Visited Mosquito Pass and witnessed the solar eclipse from this point. View was amazing, road up was not real difficult, but hi clearance vehicle would be needed. 4 wheel drive might be an option depending on weather.

I have driven this pass at least 6 times over the last decade. The scenery and flowers are always great in late July and early August. FOR A 4WD TRAIL, it has been in good condition on all the trips that I have taken. NOTE!...More

My first Jeep trail in Colorado! Starting out of Leadville was a rough ride but when I got to the top, decided to just keep goin'! Looped back on the highway through Breckenridge and hit the skatepark there. Great first day!
