We went to the museum, not expecting too much. It was a pure delight. We are not particularly into trains but our granddaughter had been here and wanted us to see it. We were there over 2 hours just admiring and being impressed by the...More

This is one of the best model railroads in the US! It is modeled after a railroad in Oregon on November 9, 1975. That was the day before the Edmund Fitzgerald sank in Lake Superior. You've got to stop to find out the connection. The...More

A year or two ago I'd picked up a brochure on this museum and decided I wanted to see it on my next trip to Colorado. I went yesterday, 9/16/17, driving up from the Denver area. It was well worth the drive. Some 5,500 square...More

An amazing model train layout modeling a section of actual railroad in Oregon. The detail and special effects are stunning - even to the extent of smoke coming from the forest fire. There are members of the club there to explain things and answer questions....More

This is a great place. I can spend hours looking at the trains. On Saturdays there are usually several volunteer engineers with trains on the tracks.

We thoroughly enjoyed this place. Keep watch for the red buttons that allow you to control little parts of the scenery. The best part was the little women feeding the tiny chickens.

We went in a day when the farmer's market was going on, across the street. Models were amazing! Not too far to drive from Denver and well worth the trip.

They have a game for the kids where they need to search for items, that can take about an hour. There's plenty to see in a smaller place, about 7000-10000 square feet, a few hours should be enough time.
