The James M. Robb Colorado State River Park is actually 5 parks. Being a state park, it is pet friendly. The day use charge is $7 but you can buy a yearly pass that is good for all Colorado State Parks which is a real bargain. Eastmost is Island Acres, which to me is mostly an RV park, though you... Small and quiet state park on the edge of the Colorado River. While it offered a place to do some fishing, there wasn't much going on when we were there.

This state park is well maintained with spacious campsites. The location and setting is hard to beat. A home away from home kind of feeling. Most of what a traveler would need is just a short distance away. Recreational activities abound from here. The Monument, McInnis Canyons to the south, Mtn. Biking the Kokopelli Trail System to the west, 18... More

I needed a place to camp and was unable to make reservations on the weekend near Ouray, Co. I settled for James M Robb state park which is not your average state park. It's on the edge of the town In Fruita close to Grand Junction. I could see the Taco Bell and Gas station from my Hammock. They have... More

We stayed at the island acres section for three nights. Chose this park because we were in the area to visit friends in Mesa, CO. Lovely state park. We had a huge site surrounded by grass. Gravel pull through site with full hookups and a covered picnic table and for pit. Clean facilities-showers are $4 for 4 minutes. Laundry is... More

Loved the amenities, loved the convenience to things in the area, biking nearby is perfect. Hosts and State park staff were wonderful throughout the entire stay. Planning on going back in October.

Better than average for sites and overall layout. Right in Fruita - beside the Colorado River, close to dining and Dinosaur Museum.

This is a great outdoors area for picnicking, fishing, walking, biking, or photography. If one visits at particular times of the day, certain wildlife can be viewed, i.e., deer, rabbits, osprey. The lake area is popular for local fishermen who aren't wishing to drive the hour + to Grand Mesa.

There are 3 locations for this park. 2 have camping. We have stayed at both and they are very nice. They have pay showers.

One of the best parks in the region for a multitude of reasons. This park is well maintained and clean. Full hookups are available which we needed this past June. It was hot by mid morning and the AC was a comfort we enjoyed. This park is located at the base of Colorado Natl. Monument. Gas, groceries and fast food... More
