December can be iffy for weather. I would check the weather for Delta, Colorado to determine before making plans. It would definitely be less populated.
How is it in late December. Me and my family are getting there dec. 27th to Jan 2nd. And would like to know how the weather is like at that time.

I'm not sure. I've never hiked it in winter. Depends on amount of snowfall, nothing so far this winter. The canyon trail is fairly flat.

You can see what can be seen from the road. IMHO, the only way to really see and experience Dominguez Canyon is by hiking or biking.
