There were five of us, grandparents, mom and 7 and 11-year-old. We spent a good amount of time looking at the displays which were nicely done; then we went for a hike and took in the beautiful surroundings and views. We even saw three deer. It was a very positive experience.

This nature center is free of charge and interesting. It is not very big and only a few things to read inside and some stuffed animals in a display area. The gentleman on duty was interesting though and gave us some insight of the area and its wildlife.

If you're an out of towner looking for a way to get away from the city take a drive up Lookout Mountain to visit the Center along with Buffalo Bill's Grave. Great views along with some historical facts. After the visit drive back down into Golden to enjoy the small town hospitality.

As advertised in the name, Lookout Mountain features a great view of the city. The nature center is small but modern and illustrative. There are some children's programs there. You could check their schedule if you wish to catch one. There is a nice walk out back that lets you see the city and mountain itself. I don't like it... More

Excellent stop along the Lariat Loop, and great place for the kids to learn about some of the local flora, fauna, and animals. Friendly informative rangers are sometimes there to answer questions, and do programs on the local critters.

This is a beautiful facility with a few nice displays and clean bathrooms. The drive up the mountain is easy and fairly close to the highway. If you stop, take some time to sit on the back porch and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Very interesting Nature Center. Exhibits, and Ranger held a interactive lecture about snakes, how to tell e difference between a Bull snake (good) and a rattle snake (scary). Actually had a very tame Bull snake for you to see and touch. Nice trails (I think) to walk around on. I didn't feel brave enough after the rattle snake thing. I... More
