Only 1/2 an hour north of Fort Collins, the drive changes as soon as you start driving up the river. Trees are green, the water is blue, and the twisting canyons are picture perfect. Temperatures start to drop the higher you drive up the canyon...More

We went white water rafting on the la poudre river and it was so much fun! The sights and sounds are marvelous. The rapids where amazing, but the water was some what cold. Just a really fun, fun time.

Amazingly beautiful river and surrounding environment! I love to fly fish in such a peaceful and stress reducing place. Nature understands the importance of wild places. Truly the solice of wide open spaces. Awe.

Nice drive. But can be crowded, especially in peak summer months. Never can fully escape the road noise. Gateway Park, along the way a must see.

Like all the scenery around this area, this is stunning as well. The rushing river sends waves of relaxation over you as you stare at the water flowing over the rocks. Several places to view this river from, all are equally beautiful. Follow it for...More

We found this by accident and it as a pleasant drive a bit out of town. Saw some rapids, folks fishing or hiking in the area.

Depemds on how far up the Poudre you drive and how often you stop. Straight through to Walden (88 miles) around 2 hours. But you will want to stop quite often. It’s at keast 3-4 hours.

Most of the pull offs going up the Canyon are free. There are probably Day fee picnic areas and any camping overnight is usually State owned and will most likely require a fee. All fees are very reasonable. The best time to... More

In my opinion, the Poudre is an easier drive. Not like the Big Thompson or Rocky Mountain National Park. Yes, it is a 2 lane road. I think it is less stressful. You often see Hummingbirds. Hopefully, it works for you.
