This drive up to the peak has amazing views...a little scary at times because the heights but well worth the drive! Allow a couple of hours to drive and to stop to see the views!

The Pike's National Forest has something for everyone. We especially loved the autumn hues of the aspens and cottonwoods. There are a number of trails and and camp sights, as well as two good-sized reservoirs (Rampart and Palmer Lake) for fishing and non-motorized water craft. The Forest is on the way to the Pike's Peak and there are a number... More

We started in Castle Rock and drove out 67 and made our way to I285 via Buffalo Creek. We essentially follow the South Platte River. This is a beautiful drive along the river. Part of the trip is improved unpaved road but we did it in a small SUV and had no problems. There are places to park along the... More

We went ATVing on twin cone trail in Kenosha Pass. The trees were turning and the trail was fairly easy with areas of rocky passes. I would rate it as moderate till you get above tree level. After that more challenging! Beautiful day in the changing colors ! Weather was perfect. Great fall day in Colorado.

We regularly find ourselves hiking in the Pike National Forest. It is filled with lovely trails, a variety of vegetation and abundant wildlife. A great place to spend time, whether on vacation or just anytime.

Have taken several trails including Weston Pass Road to Fairplay, Cty Rd 20, and Cty Rd 18. All have amazing scenery. Tons of wildflowers. No people at all on the weekdays except some longer stay campers.

My family and I camp in the forest every year, about an hour southwest of denver and about 30 minutes down a tranquil curvy road. The dirt road on the way to the camping spots are annoyingly bumpy but it's worth it when you see the beautiful area your in, and for only 6 bucks a day it's a no... More

Beautiful scenery, a lot of hiking, and snow!!! We saw people going cross country skiing and we were at the pool earlier that day. Very nice area to visit on the way to Pike Peak.
