Great ride

Was a wonderful trip. Kid's loved the experience. Was best train ride we have gone on. Very authentic train and cars, well kept and maintained.

Well worth it. Everyone loved it. A different way to be in the mountains. Made it to and through spots not accessible by car or day hikes. Be sure to bring cameras, sunglasses to keep the soot out of your eyes, and warm clothes depending on the time of year. Friendly staff and a feat experience.

The Durango and Silverton Railroad is one of the better experiences I have ever had for a day trip! It is a full day of fun, excitement, amazing scenery and some remarkable hairpin turns. The train leaves around 8AM in the morning (from Durango), travels 4 hours one way to the town of Silverton, two hours for lunch there, and... More

Great trip with great staff. The views are incredible. Not living in the area made this trip worth it.

Wonderful views! Did want to let everyone know that the trip does not go all the way to Silverton until May. Also, it is a very rocking ride so do not take this trip if you get carsick.

We chose the VIP box car that had all windows, huge seats that reclined, and complimentary beverages and free gift souvenirs. We were able to move around easily and open our windows. This was perfect for my family. We were able to relax, take pictures and just enjoy the ride!!!! Our tour guide was a sweet, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable... More

I've ridden the train in every season and been on a couple of the specialty themed days. This trip never gets old there's always something new to see. This is a great trip for those from 1-101 years old.

I have ridden this train in all seasons and it never ever disappoints. It is one of my favorite places to visit and my most favorite train. This is a trip for all ages and my biggest advice is to make sure you have plenty of room on your camera as you will be taking lots of pictures. I rode... More

I have been on this train numerous times in my life. Starting when I was only 9 years old. The magnificent views never change. This time around we tried the narration car and had a ball reliving the history through the eyes of a child character that was the owner of the railways daughter. What a unique perspective we got... Was great to share this memory with my family. Has not changed a bit. Loved the open train car - lets you see everything.
