Pretty Good For 90 Years Old

This course is 90 years old (at least that's what the flags on the greens say). So it has a lot of mature trees that your ball may find if you're not a straight shooter. The... read more

This is a great old Donald Ross golf course. No arguing the wonders of this course, it is great, and most people on here agree. But I am seeing a lot of issues with the staff. I have to agree. The biggest issue for golfers I see is the double check-in policy. You have to wait at the pro shop... More

This course is 90 years old (at least that's what the flags on the greens say). So it has a lot of mature trees that your ball may find if you're not a straight shooter. The course was in pretty good condition despite recent extremely hot temperatures. It doesn't have many obstacles like water or sand, so it's reasonably straight... More

I have golfed here a few times. I give it an average rating because the service isn't the best. I typically walk away from my time with course staff feeling as if I was some sort of bother to them. That they'd rather be doing anything other than helping paying customers. The driving range is from artificial mats and you... More

Wellshire once hosted a US Open, now it is a serviceable public course that offers reasonable pricing ($11 for a senior playing 9 holes and walking). It has changed a lot in the past few years losing several very large old cotton wood trees and moving several tee boxes forward to accommodate older golfers.

I live near Wellshire, and we won't play there despite it being two miles from the house. Start with they rarely water, they wait for rain. 1/2 the course should be ground under repair. Not run by the parks department, some 3rd party management group who obviously takes all the money out, nothing back in for years. Range is even... More

Many more beautiful courses in Denver than this one. Loud highway noise. Staff not all that nice in pro shop. Grouchy. Course did not match up to reputation--nothing nostalgic about it; disappointing. What could be in those eye-sore sheds sprinkled throughout the course????

Holes on back 9 run along busy "freeway" Disappointed based on reviews. In addition I guess no dress code - tshirts and jeans. Slow golf in the afternoon a lot of walkers.

Wellshire is an older course with lots of mature trees. The course was in pretty good shape however it was a little soggy due to the recent rains. The traffic noise on the back nine was a little distracting.

What a gorgeous course. Sure, it's not in the best shape, but every Denver golfer has to play here at least once -- it's a classic. The layout is kind of weird, with holes almost overlapping, but you figure it out as you go along. I do wish the course marshal (if they even have one) would do a better... More

It's not exceptionally long or tough, but will challenge you. Also, the clubhouse is nice; it used to be a private club before the City of Denver picked it up some years ago, and made it a municipal course. The restaurant is pretty good, and the folks that work there are very nice. I always try to get in a... More
