There are more hiking trails here than I anticipated. We ended up doing a pretty long hike and, even though it was an August weekend, we didn't see all that many people. There are trails for all levels of fitness here. I recommend.

My husband, son and daughter-in-law and three grand children, to were six and one was 2 all went hiking in Genesse Park. The trials were marked and it was a beautiful area. Took us about an hour on the trail we took.

20 minutes after getting into the car two blocks from Coors Field, we were in the land that inspired Coors beer. Took the Braille Trail to the Chavez to the Beaver Brook - and somehow got back to the car. Yes, the trail is not extremely well-marked, but neither was it for generations of pioneers and adventurers. Do NOT freak... More

This park has amazing views, great anytime of year. The park has a small fee to enter but has many trails. Added bonus it has views of Denver.

From reading some other post, we were expecting to see bison roaming "freely" along side several acres of fenced in highway. What we really found were several bison pinned in a smaller fenced area alongside someone's property.....

We were very disappointed with this stop. We did not see the buffalo and several times throughout the trip we thought we were lost. Hardly any paved roads.

Not far from Lookout Mountain and Buffalo Bill's grave is a bison herd that is cared for by Denver. If you are driving along Interstate 70, near exit 254, you may see a few bison. If you drive off the beaten path (off the freeway), you may see many more in a fenced in enclosure. These huge beasts are magnificent,... More

Other than in Zoos, you would be hard pressed to find buffalo in the United State. What we normally call Buffalo are North American Bison. The Bison in Genesee Park and the "Buffalo Outlook" off I-70 are huge and well cared for. We had the opportunity to take several photos here as well as in the Rocky Mountain Arsenal Wildlife... It is kinda neat to see the buffalo, but after searching for the herd and missing an exit, I think it's just fine to drive and look out the window as you pass. Nothing exciting, but it's a great "hey, I saw the buffalo" moment.

Searching for the bison was like an awesome scavenger hunt with a huge payoff! They were gorgeous and there were a ton of frolicking babies. The park itself was beautiful and naturey, like everywhere we went in Colorado. Had a lot of fun trying to identify different animal poops.
