Took a foreign friend to see our Governor's mansion. We took the holiday tour and it was very nice. It had been quite awhile since I had last visited the mansion and since I had forgotten almost everything from my previous visit, it seemed all new to me.

You will want to check the website for the actual months this palatial former private residence is open to the public for tours. At present, April, June, and December are the only three months you can have a public tour, and no reservations are accepted, although groups with more than ten members should e-mail ahead. If you aren’t a donor... More

This was a nice place to visit for free during the Doors Open event. The staff really love their job at the mansion and were telling us nice tidbits about the building even though there was no official tour happening that day. They also open the mansion for select days when it is decorated for Xmas so I would love... More

My group attended an event at the Carriage House which is on the property of the Residence. The grounds are well kept and a brief tour of the residence was a nice treat. It is appointed with art, period furniture and nice artifacts of many genres. The event location has a foyer open to a patio for indoor and outdoor... More

My friend and I took the last free tour of the summer yesterday, and it was excellent. The guide was very knowledgeable, and we loved the stories. Just about every rich and famous person in CO history has lived there. Absolutely beautiful! History of Colorado is doing a good job.

Beautifully decorated. This year themes were colors of Colorado. First of three floors is open for public tours. Second floor is Governor's personal residence. Docents, all volunteers, are very knowledgeable. Was private home from 1904-1958 for 2 of Denver's prominent families. Built by Cheesman. Then purchased by Boettcher. Governor's residence since 1960. The grounds are beautiful and you are allowed... More

It's on 8th Avenue a very short walk to the heart of downtown Denver. The mansion is a part of Denver's history. It has not always been the Governor's Mansion. It once belonged to a very rich family. That is very common for this area of Denver. The Denver Historic Society runs free tours, I believe, every Tuesday during the... More

This is a beautiful home and right now it's decorated for Christmas and really fabulous. All the tour rooms on the first floor were great, but the palm room or what I call the southern sun palace was my favorite. This is a sunroom to put other sunrooms to shame. The Christmas tree and other greener and Christmas decor was... More
