What a shame. The beautiful Capital Building is the host to the homeless drug addicts in this park. Denver really made a mistake by allowing this to happen. Go with a group during the day. Otherwise it's likely not safe.

Civic Center should be one of the jewels of Denver. The architecture and history is beautiful and important to preserve for everyone to enjoy. You cannot accomplish this when you allow the entire place to be overrun by vagrant, lazy drug addicts. I do not...More

1st time traveler to this area, from a distance I was excited to see this park, the statues. As we got closer it was filled with homeless people with the shopping carts covered in tarps, Unwashed young people that looked strung out. Smell of pot...More

Although the day we were there there wasn’t a big rally, it was easy to see why this is the central place for Denver political rallies. It’s a beautiful park and definitely worth a quick exploration. The park is surrounded by classic government buildings including...More

Pale dried out grass, full of homeless people and smells of marijuana. You’d think they would take better care of it given it’s outside government buildings and museums but it just looks run down. It was a nice day and we were looking for a...More

Located in the center of Denver, this large green space offers a refreshing place to relax. Anchored by the state capitol on one end and civic buildings on the other, the paths and plantings are enjoyable on a sunny day. Unfortunately, a lot of transient...More

I think this is downtown Denver in general. So many transients and drugs everywhere. It wasn't this way 20 years ago. Unless there's a specific event, I'd stay away. There's often gang activity as well.

Beautiful park in downtown Denver. Very close to state Capitol. Beautiful grounds, lovely flowers and helpful people in park. One of the highlights of our trip to Denver. Visited it twice we liked it so much.

There is a minimal amount of street parking at meters (average 2 hour max). Best bet if you're going to stay for awhile, park at one of the nearby surface lots or if you don't mind hoofing it, there is a parking garage at... More
