Very simply, this is a wonderful place to visit. On a clear day you see all over Colorado. It’s a beautiful drive and way to see one of the Fourteeners. I suggest going early in the morning. The limited parking fills up quickly.

Seeing the mountain goats on the top of Mt. Evans is a real thrill. It is the only place in Colorado that I have seen them and usually they can be seen on the top of Mt. Evans.

An opportunity to take visitors to elevation that is close to Denver, BUT, it is closed during the winter and it is smart to take an SUV or a 4x4. Stunning views and a great experience at 14,000 feet of elevation. Check all participants for...More

If you're in the Denver area, it is definitely worth the trip to go to Mount Evans. It does take a while to get up there, so do plan on plenty of time to allow for this, plus the different exploring options once you are...More

When you are at 14,265 feet, over looking Denver and the front range, you will know why I have always loved this state!

Nothing like being above it all at sunset. Seeing mountain goats and bighorn sheep on the way doesn't hurt either. Road is a little rough so take it easy and give your passenger(s) the opportunity to enjoy the views. Allow a few hours to give...More

Very cool. Lots of big horn sheep and goats. Crazy cold at top in summer. Great views. Singular experience for kids (and adults) who can’t or won’t hike all day up and down 14k feet.

The drive to the top is really remarkable. You can see so far out, you really get the scope of the great west. We stopped at the little lake on the way up to stretch our legs. It was a great spot and we went...More

So sorry, I don't know. We were talking and enjoying the ride without any regard for time. Sounds like it's going to be a great excursion on Thanksgiving!

Yes I'd go to Evergreen and then west in that state highway toward Echo Lake.
