Beautiful zoo, well maintained. Our kids loved it! We especially enjoyed the monkeys and the hippo's. There was a hippo playing with a ball just below us, I have never seen such a huge mouth open just a few feet away. It was great fun.

The parking options to visit this zoo are TERRIBLE!!! Yes, we went on a Saturday, and all the close parking was full before 11:00, but they don't even offer a shuttle from the park grounds where we had to park! My daughter dropped me off...More

This is a great city zoo. Not too big. Easy to walk around all of it and not get too tired. Lots to see. Some fun rides for small kids.

This is a wonderful zoo. It has a new exhibit for the tigers that is amazing. It seems that each time we visit, something new has been added to make it more family friendly and fun.

The Denver Zoo had an easy to follow walking path that allowed us to see many of the animals. We went in the afternoon when it was not crowded, but some animals were not on exhibit. The brisket sandwiches were delicious. It took us about...More

The Denver Zoo seems much larger than it really is. There is great attention paid to the well-being of the animals such as feeding, efforts to prevent boredom and habitat. I had the pleasure of being shown through the zoo by a volunteer, Maryann. Her...More

I believe the zoo is open most days during the winter. However, if there is a very cold spell and or, a lot of snow, they may close. Certain animals that are exceptionally effected by cold weather would be kept inside then... More

I don't know if the day of week matters. I went on a Tuesday and was fairly busy with groups of day camp kids. It is better to go early in day as many animals were hiding out from the hot afternoon sun.
