Worth a visit to this old mining town.

If your goal is a casino filled town, this is your place. Otherwise a quick pass through is probably enough.

Cripple Creek is an old mining town that still has a lot of the old feel and charm of that era. The gambling casinos do take some of the flavor away but most of the old buildings are still there. Main street has a few shops and you can ride the steam train during the summer. Be sure to ask... More

We recently visited Cripple Creek. It happened to have an ice festival when we were there. We really enjoyed it. It was a pleasure to walk down such an historic area. There were unique old buildings filled with charm, many restaurants, a great candy store, and casinos. The surrounding mountains were a beautiful backdrop. It was very crowded during the... More

A very cute couple of streets with casinos, bars, food places and other specialty shops. A very nice walk through.

This is a cool little town to spend some time in. There are several shops. An old time soda fountain. Just north of town there is the Mollie Kathleen Mine which gives tours and shows you the inside and workings of an old time mine. We had a good time exploring the town and I think you will enjoy it.... More

As I was staying for a few days in Victor, I figured that I would swing over to Cripple Creek for a bit. The town was clean, plenty of casinos (if that's what your interested in), a few touristy stores, and if your really lucky you will catch a glimpse of the wild burros. It was nice to wander around... This was our second time to visit Cripple Creek. The first was with the kids and we did not get to gamble. We love this place, very quiet compared to some of the places to visit in Colorado. We plan on visiting many more times in our life, it is beautiful and we consider it a jewel in the mountains.

WE decided to take a short detour and were pleasantly surprised by the friendly store owners. We did not gamble but that seems to be the main attraction in the city.

Overall the casinos are always fun! However the town doesn't seem to take kind to outsiders. It is almost creepy since this is 2016 and America has changed so much! It would be nice to see the locals have friendly smiles. I notice most of them glaring at you as you walk by them, I felt as if it may... More

Took a day trip to cripple creek knowing it was mainly a gambling town. Beautiful drive from woodland park. If we visit again we'll definitely book a one-night stay at one of the casinos so we can drink and gamble more! The "crowd" was much older on a Thursday afternoon.. can't help but wonder if things ever pick up around... More
