very interesting & informative. Guide talks during descent into the mine & ascent as well- the running commentary wards off any anxiety about the 1000 ft. drop. Nice gift shop.

Our guide was great. He really involved the kids and helped them understand. We learned a lot about the mining process and saw various tools demonstrated. One note, if you are claustrophobic you may not be able to do it because the elevator down is...More

On a family trip to Colorado, the older generation (40s-60s) decided they wanted to do this. The younger ones (10-30) were kind of dragged along. However, everyone came out of the mine having really enjoyed the tour! Our guide was Stephen and he was passionate...More

First visit, despite having lived in Colorado on and off since the 1980s. Was very surprised at how extensive the tour actually is. You are issued a hard hat and jacket (if you don't have one) and loaded into one of two skip cars for...More

I have taken a number of tours in caves or underground tunnels and this was the best. Yes, the price might be considered a bit steep at $20+, but it is unique, and very interesting to all ages. A lot depends on the quality of...More

The fact that we were in a gold mine was incredible !!! I loved seeing the inside of a mountain and learning how people worked down there. It was totally worth the $20 dollars. The guide was ok. Be prepared to ask questions because a...More

You will enter and exit the mine by an authentic mine elevator. It is small and you will be packed in like sardines. I'm not exaggerating. It's okay though, because the ascent and descent are quick. Once in the mine you... More
