Only a small short outfit, but interesting none the less. The informative commentary was given by the engineer, who had quite a lot to do! You learn a lot about the history of the town, it’s goldmines and stories. There is a glimpse at one...More
The Cripple Creek & Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad isn't as celebrated or as functional as the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad but it gives passengers a very good idea of what transportation was all about during the Colorado Gold Rush Days of the 1890s,...More
Maybe the shortest run on my trip but quite worthwhile as one gets quite up close and personal with a goodly number of gold mines in the Cripple Creek and Victor area, although only a tiny fraction of the purported 3000!

What a wonderful way to see and hear about the mining days of Cripple Creek. You will travel past abandoned mines, along with prospector's mines. There are beautiful views as you travel in the open cars of the train.

The old mining town of Cripple Creek is worth visiting and the history of the place is fascinating. They do have a casino, like some other old towns do, but there are other things to occupy your time, like museums, tours of gold mines and...More
The train looks to the kids like Thomas the train! It is a steam train too. The ride takes you through old gold mine and the engineer gives a detailed report of the area. The gift shop had very nice reasonably priced items for sale....More
