The Butte Opera House is an 1890's era theater refurbished for modern use. Owned and operated by the City of Cripple Creek, the Butte hosts both community and professional performing arts events throughout the year. The Butte is the proud home of The Thin Air Theatre Company, a production company that produces many genres of professional theatre, with an emphasis on Cripple Creek's beloved tradition of Classic Melodrama.

This was a great experience. The building take you back in time. We were greeted by the cast, they never broke character. I thought the play myself was a bit long (2.5 hrs) but the chairs are comfortable enough. We'd do it again.

This place was absolutely fantastic! We had been a bit leary of attending a theater performance in such a small town but this place exceeded all expectations. The atmosphere was excellent, hilarious show, top notch acting, superior customer service, and unbeatable prices! Highly recommend
