The Shrine itself is gorgeous with painted murals and gorgeous views from several different heights. I made it to the top of the shrine, barely, but I made it! Ha! This was a wonderful addition at the end of our afternoon at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo - definitely take the time to drive up and experience the shrine.

If you visit the zoo you must then take the drive up the top to this attraction, great views and history.

Why not go it is free with your admission to the zoo. I would highly recommend this to all travelers.

Amazing views from the top of the tower. If you're going to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, entrance to the road that goes up to the Shrine is included in your admission fee.

to travel to this shrine you have to take a very curvy road and you better are not scared of heights because the road is narrow up to the shrine, when going there you will travel through the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo area

Weird getting to ... you actually drive THROUGH the zoo where people are walking to get to it. If you can climb several flights of stairs, you are rewarded with amazing views. Pictures in small rooms on the way up.

Amazing views but it's a bit scary driving there. Free admission with zoo entrance fee. Restrooms are available

This is part of the zoo admission and you drive up a curvy road to get to the top of the mountain. It's well worth seeing both for the view and the tower itself

If you go to the zoo, you really ought to do the little additional drive (through the zoo) up to this memorial. It offers a great view of Colorado Springs and a little bit of history about Will Rogers and the Penroses. You can do the drive and visit in 30 minutes to an hour, and it is well worth... More
