Colorado Springs is home to America’s ONLY mountain zoo. Located at 6,800 feet above sea level, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo offers breathtaking views of the city and of its 750 animals. The unique design of the Zoo’s animal exhibits gets guests closer than ever before. Hand-feed one of the largest reticulated giraffe herds in the world, watch grizzlies swim with trout, hop next to red-necked wallabies and get hands on with some of the Zoo’s smaller residents in The Loft. Have a WILD adventure at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo – see the animals, ride an antique carousel, eat a gourmet lunch at the Grizzly Grill and ride the Mountaineer Sky Ride to the Zoo’s summit. Visit 365 days a year for family fun at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.

The obvious is that this is a zoo so there are a lot of animals to see. The layout is fairly condensed as it has many layers winding back and forth up the mountain making full use of the space. The odd part is there...More

Lovely mountainside zoo. Gorgeous vistas of mountains and Colorado Springs. We had two and a half hours and easily made our way through this zoo. Added bonuses of being able to get up close and personal with the giraffes and wallabies.

This is not the size of the Denver zoo by any means, but what fun! It is placed on the mountain, so it's a good workout walking around. The displays are very nicely done---love the penguins. But, best of all is the Giraffe pen. You...More

I have an annual membership, so I can run through in 2 hours. If you're visiting as a 1-shot, 4-5 hours would be good to see exhibits, feed animals, and have some lunch. The zoo has a good layout to take you through in one... More
