This campground has few trees, as it was cleared when the pine beetle came. It is coming back nicely, however, and the trees are starting to grow again. It is NOT the thick forest it used to be. That said, it allows for pretty views...More

Beautiful drive towards iconic Hahn's peak. Lake itself is quiet and peaceful and hike through the woods and wildflowers relaxing and gorgeous. Great place

Steamboat Lake State Park one of Colorado's hidden treasures. The lake is gorgeous and all of the campsites are clean and well maintained. Even the pit toilets we clean, no smells!

We camped here for 3 nights at the end of July, beginning of August. The fire pit in our campsite was filled with burned cans, bottles and trash. There was trash around the campsite. This place is void of trees except for a very few...More

The lake was really nice and the surrounding area great for viewing. Nice drive not far from Steamboat Springs. The area coming to the lake had many beautiful ranch homes made out of timber and worth the drive. Nice way to spend a half day.

Yes, they are. Paddleboards are considered a "vessel" so you must at least carry a life jacket for everyone on board and have a whistle. Kids under 13 must wear their life jacket.
