River Valley Ranch (RVR) is located alongside the Crystal River just south of Carbondale, Colorado. The course is very nicely laid out with water, rough as well as elevation. As opposed to other courses in this area, RVR is a tester but fair, allowing for all levels of players to enjoy the course. The pro shop is well stocked and... More

This track will please every level of player. There are very few t shots that require more than a 50 yard carry. The fairways are wide with very few trees to penalize those who can't always hit it down the middle. However there are many tough shots, and the greens have plenty of contour, to challenge the most skillful. I... More

Played in Late August 2016, nice layout, good conditions, rough can be challenging, hit em straight. Bunkers somewhat course but playable, greens in excellent shape, staff seems professional and friendly.

The course is expansive and nice but lacks ball washers and water. Our on cart washer had no water. This will be an easy course for young long ball hitters. The greens are hard to read. There appeared to be sand on a number of greens to slow them down. The practice area did not have free range balls but... More

From driving up to the club house you will experience the quality of the staff which is first class and real. The course is in great shape for a public course.

I thoroughly enjoyed River Ranch Golf Course, a Jay Morrish design back in 1997. I played the blues at 6700 yards and it was quite a challenge. The course was in great condition, greens quick and difficult, and tons of large sand traps...I must have found them all. The first opening holes were so scenic I took lots of photos... More

Took my four-year-old during twilight hours (which start at 3:30 pm) $50 for 18 holes, with a cart and range balls. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Course had gorgeous views, with the Crystal River snaking throughout and Capitol Peak (I think) in view on most holes. Everything was in fantastic shape...the cart even had GPS, with a cooler and... Play nice round on crowded course. Took 4 1/2 hours. No marshal. Vanilla but pleasant. Not one particular hole was memorable except for possibly the drive able 7 th.

This golf course is exceptionally pretty. It has an amazing view of Mt. Sopris. Very well groomed. The only drawback is the golf pro is not very friendly! You won't be disappointed in this course.

Tried to play Iron Bridge and got soaked. Went back to house changed clothes watched some football and the rains stopped. Got to River Valley Ranch at about 2PM Sunday afternoon and there was hardly anyone around so a group of 8 teed it up. Course was in great shape and very scenic. The drainage was impressive handling all the... More
