Having seen Royal Gorge as a kid I wanted to visit the area again and share the scenery with my wife. We felt like kids again! We ate breakfast on the train (better than average) and then walked to the open air car since the weather was perfect. Seeing the Royal Gorge Bridge from below was a thrill. We want... More

What a great excursion to take for all ages! We were very pleased with the ease of boarding and the seating in the Club cab. Originally we were scheduled to be in the Vista dome but we had to reschedule for the following day. The Club cab was just as nice and we received a voucher to cover our expenses!... More

We had our whole family on the train, we enjoyed the history, the facts, and our server was excellent. Brought anything we asked and more! So cute with our grandchildren!

This was my second time to take the train. The ride is excellent. The views are outstanding. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is like they really want you there. The on board food is good. My advise, move to the open air car immediately after the train leaves the station. Then take all your pictures from there on... More

The train ride was great however there was no air conditioning in the dome cars which made it extremely hot and almost unbearable to sit. The rest of the cars did have air conditioning. The problem did not get fixed until we were almost back at the depot in Canon City. I suggest they address this problem before the summer... More

Great friendly staff. Food was tasty. Roughly $19 for bacon cheeseburger and homemade chips. 7 year old daughter had a great time. Lots of historical information. Open cars provided a view like no other.

We took this trip at the 930 departure. Very smooth ride and employees were very friendly. Our dome car view was fantastic, but we really enjoyed walking back to the open platform. The dome is extra but I feel it was woth it. Children might get tired on the platform car as there is no seating. The coach cars looked... More

Whether you are a rail fan or a sightseer, The Royal Gorge Route Railroad is a trip for both. We rode in the Vista Dome and paid for the breakfast package. Wow! We felt like royalty! We each had a tray waiting for us with fresh fruit and melon, granola, yogurt and apple juice. On departure the staff took our... More

Train ride was informational and scenic, however the service was HORRIBLE! Food came out wrong, bill came out wrong, and workers having side conversations about inappropriate things was not okay. If there would have been narration to the tour that would have drown out the conversations. We were told it was broke or seemed confused as to what we meant... More
