We visited early in the morning before leaving town and it was a great hike with beautiful scenery. The first incline was a bit of a killer, but once past that, it was wonderful. I had read on another review to turn around after the...More

Tunnels are in the first mile (or less). We walked for a bit and watched rafters in the river below. It was nice and the kids (8 and 10) enjoyed counting the lizards along the way! They counted 29!!! Easy walk/hike with kids!

After rising early to get to the Royal Gorge, we ended up having extra time. We didn't want to pay money for a family of 6 to walk the bridge or do the gorge experience, so we had an hour to use before we rafted....More

We return again and again to Tunnel Drive to walk our dogs. It is an easy walk with beautiful views. The only downside is that you need to keep your dogs on-leash (because you never know when you will encounter another walker/dog) but the scenery...More

Nice 4 mile round trip walk/hike. Although all tunnels can found in the first 1/2 mile. Nice bathroom and parking at trailhead.

This is a beautiful hike along with River Gorge. The tunnels are so cool, and as you continue on the trail, you'll probably see rafters coming down the river. Great pics! If you want to walk the whole trail, it is 2 miles long (one-way),...More

Beautiful walk/hike, and I'm a middle-aged out-of-shape woman from the TX Gulf Coast, altitude 53 feet. The only difficult part of the hike/walk was the very start, then the rest was flat. Great views of the river!!!

We had just arrived in Canon City and our hotel staff told us about Tunnel Drive. We drove there and walked this path. It was a beautiful late afternoon and we really enjoyed taking this beautiful stroll through tunnels.

I'm so glad I found out about this hike, because it was perfect after a visit to the Royal Gorge Bridge. It is easy, VERY scenic, and you can chose to go as far as you'd like as there are mile markers along the trail....More
