It's a fairly easy hike. Start off going to the highest point first (Teniderios) then hike back and save the waterfalls for last. It will make the trek worth it! The water is just so beautiful and the trail isn't that bad. We saw plenty...More

The Celeste River is something you definitely have to see if you are nearby but be aware that the hike is not such an easy one. You don't need to be in great shape but some of it is quite steep and when it rains...More

We visited Rio Celeste in August and it was raining every afternoon that week, so the water was not "Celeste" at all and it was very disappointing. My husband went in January 2014 and said it was a memorable experience. But now, besides the color...More

We visited during the "rainy season (July)" and although it did not rain the hike is muddy and rocky. I initially did not want to rent the $1.00 boots but remembered I had socks with me so I rented them and boy am I glad...More

A nice place to be amazed by nature! Of course the ride (by car) to get there is rough, but it is worth it. There was a great deal of confusion between park people. The hike to the fall is just 30 minutes, than another...More

The drive to the waterfall is a little rough. 4wd is recommended but could be done with 2wd. There is a small fee to park and also an entrance fee. Like most places they accept dollars. The hike is not too bad to the waterfall,...More

I was worried about road condition to get here, so we rented an SUV 4WD. The road was recently much improved, and while 4WD is advised in Costa Rica, we didn't need it for this visit. We did the full hike to where the blue...More

We went on this hike as part after an all day tour. The hike itself is mostly an easy (can be muddy) walk through a rainforest. However, to descend to the waterfall is about 250 steps and, of course, those steps have to be climbed...More

This was a very nice hike to one of the most beautiful blue waterfalls I have ever seen. The extra hike to the lagoon and two rivers was pretty strenuous though. Most people can get to the waterfall easily however the steps down to the...More

It's still worth seeing and there are plenty of other places to go into the hot springs or fresh water springs.

You can take route 142 to 143 to 4 to 6, or just go back to 4 and take it to 6. I have had good fortune with Waze in CR but never google maps. I'd spend at least 3 hours at the waterfall and check out Casitas Tenorio for an... More

Heidi - I did a bunch of things on my last trip with Native's way and I'm unsure what the fee was for picking me up. Sorry just reread the question. If you book your tour with them they will tell you if there's extra cost... More
