This trail ended up being a lot harder than I thought it would be. It is full of roots and rocks and is not well marked as you ascend. There is an almost 2 thousand foot elevation gain over 3.1 miles. It was a good...More

I always take this trail from the Spruce Creek Trailhead, which is accessible with a standard auto, but many use a 4WD high clearance vehicle to get to the upper trailhead and cut quite a bit off the route. This trail leads to Lower and...More

This walk is around 6 miles so you need to be fit to be able to walk around and take into consideration elevation is a little high I will say about 1500 to 1800 feet so wear comfortable shoes and we careful when you walk...More

6.1 loop mile hike that elevates around 1800 feet from start. Amazing views. We hiked on October 15th and there was plenty of ice patches on the trail so I recommend having ice traction cleats available if there has been recent snow. We did not...More

Wonderful streams, lakes, waterfalls, historic mining sites and outstanding views. This is about a 7-8 mile round trip to the upper lakes with many great views along the way.

This is definitely one of our favorite trails around Breck because of the three lakes you see, the cabin ruins and the different terrain you travel through. It’s best to go in the morning as it will take a while to get to the highest...More

Be sure you get on the proper trail, as there are several starting at this point. We didn't and took a steep, difficult non-scenic hike which was not great until we got above tree line--then was pretty & saw mountain goat, but would not have...More

Wow what a hike. Climbed 2000 feet in about 4.5 miles. You can go as far as you want. You can drive a car up to the trailhead sign if you can find parking. If you have 4 wheel and some clearance you can drive...More
