- Pamela O7 contributionsGreat instructors for first timersMe and mu husband had such a nice day yesterday in the mountains, everyone was really nice and helpful but specially our lesson instructor Mike. I had never skied before and initially we booked a half day class but we had such a nice time that we ended up changing it for a full day. Mike was really patient and understanding and really helped me progress, ask for him if you ever go to Breck.Visited March 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 31 March 2023
- elchacoHouston, Texas843 contributionsGreat Time at BreckWe had lots of fun skiing at Breckenridge. We weren't staying at the resort, so we bought our Epic Day Pass ahead of time. We practiced for a little bit on the beginner area, then my wife and kids went up the chairlift and came down the green slopes a few times. I didn't feel comfortable enough to go up the lift, but I still had a great time. We used our Epic Pass for a discount at the restaurant during lunch time, too. We had a great time!Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 10 January 2024
- dbmaloneChicago, Illinois41 contributionsMy Favorite Ski ResortAwesome ski resort in every way! We started skiing in Breck because many of the restaurants can accommodate our family member with food allergies. Now other resorts just don't compare. There are runs for every skill level. We've skied Breck with kids and as a couple. Lots of variable terrain! Even at peak times, lift waits are reasonable and staff help to manage the lines efficiently. The mountain always feels safe with lots of friendly and helpful staff everywhere, at any time. We've jumped into private ski lessons twice which have been amazing. This time we skied with Nate who was an awesome instructor! He reinvigorated our love of skiing and challenged us. There are lots of restaurant options from casual to high end. The food is always excellent. We rarely eat at the mountain top restaurants, but enjoyed noodle bowls that were very good this last time. The bus system is efficient. We book a ski-in condo, and getting to a lift is just a very easy and short 3-5 minute bus ride away. Buses run every 8-10 minutes. Love the casual and friendly Breck vibe. We always meet easy going and helpful locals. The only negative for us is the altitude adjustment. It takes a day to adjust when coming from the midwest. It also limits friends and family who are sensitive from joining us. Otherwise, Breck is a 10!Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 1 February 2024

A great all-levels resort with east greens, long & groomed blues, and a nice dose of adventurous blacks. Everyone can have a good time at this resort. Make sure you get over to Peak 6 for some fun & wild blues and blacks! - Brendan J14 contributionsEnjoyable Ski TripFrom the sweeping views from the top of the peaks, to the variety of terrain, it's no wonder Breckenridge is so well known. Even after a week, there's still new lines and powder stashes to be found. The ski school is a "must do" for beginners. My sister enrolled in a couple of sessions and just within that timeframe, her progression has greatly improved and now she's transitioning from greens to blue runs. As for the negatives; traversing between the peaks involves hiking or pole pushing along catwalks. Especially when getting from Peak 8 to Peak 7. Also, AVOID the on-mountain dining facilities at all cost. The food is reminiscent of standard cafeteria fare for outrageous prices. My partner and I ordered two plates of chicken fingers; fries; and 2 drinks. After the discount of my Epic pass, the total was nearly $50. In summary, Breckenridge is a great destination and has something for everybody; but there are certain things to be mindful of.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 29 February 2024
- MSQ0034 contributionsGreat experience! While I am not an expert snowboarder I really enjoyed this mountain, I did go with friends who were more skilled and took on some of the other peaks. It was a great experience. It was 6 of us and we went middle of week to weekend 2/14 - 2/18. It did get progressively busier each day. The first ski lift at main entrance was pretty packed early am (20 minute wait) but once you go up and start hitting various peaks there didn't seem to be any long waits at the other lifts. Even going down the mountain didn't seem crowded except for the catwalk I think the call it where it is a pretty narrow stretch which brings you all the way down to what appeared to be main entrance. Definitely enjoyable. I would recommend and go again.Visited February 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 6 March 2024

My first time skiing in the US. Breckenridge is a fantastic ski resort. A huge amount of well kept wide slopes - suitable for all skiers. Very helpful and friendly staff at Breck Sports, helped to get the right boots, skis etc. They have an overnight storage for skis and every day both collecting and depositing staff were so nice. Nothing was too much trouble. Staff in the whole Breckenridge resort were lovely, both at the lifts, guest support etc. Everyone was so friendly. Loved Robbies for Apres Ski, especially if you could get a spot by the outside fire pits.
Would love to go back to Breckenridge - they are doing everything right. So welcoming and helpful.

I just returned from Breckenridge and I felt so compelled to warn others about the zendo lift on peak 6 that I’m writing this review. And I don’t like it. But it needs to be done before someone gets hurt.
Friday morning, the zendo lift was moving somewhat fast but I’m not a stranger to fast lifts. However, Zendo lift has a VERY steep drop but then the lift does a jerk that will launch you in the air before you actually get a chance to push off. This lift launched my 250lb self forward with such a jolt that I couldn’t control my landing. To make it worse, it launched my girlfriend 5 ft into the air over my head. While we both initially tried to laugh it off so as to not ruin the rest of our day, it was really dangerous what happened and we heard a lot of other people saying negative comments about this lift as well the entire morning. We kept seeing people fall on this lift after we sat down for a while at the rest area below the lift. Someone is going to get hurt.
We snowboarded again on Saturday and Sunday and I noticed they slowed down the lift significantly. But I think whoever was operating that lift should be fired. It’s completely irresponsible to be letting that lift go that fast on Friday. That person or group were putting peoples health in danger.

Very disappointed in the ski runs that are groomed. Less than half of the normal ski runs are being groomed. This puts extra traffic on the few runs that are groomed and makes it more difficult/dangerous to ski the other runs that are not groomed. Hoping that Vail Management will groom more runs.

The one outstanding part of this was our guide William, fun, patient, funny. However the rest of the operation...OUCH. My son and I had a good time because we were determined to and he was able to ski the bunny slope by the end of the morning. However, before we actually got to the slope, we had to deal with a lost reservation, hoards of people, the ski equipment people were not able to get us through the line in an hour so we were 20 minutes late to our full day lesson. Although we paid for and Adult Group Lesson, Full Day. At the end of the morning our guide told us we were done and that if we wanted to "roll over" to a full day lesson we would have to pay an additional $40. Even though we insisted we had paid for a full day and had the confirmation to prove it, nobody seemed to care. Then we tried to get some lunch in the cafeteria, that only adds insult to injury, what an absolute zoo! The only person that helped a little was Sara the Assistant Manager at the equipment place. When I wrote the Ski School people to get a refund for the half day we didnt get and the lift tickets we never used I got mixed responses. Andy wrote saying how sorry he was, but adding that they don´t make international phone calls so I would have to call them to give them a CC authorization for the refund. Another Customer Service person that didn´t give a name (Customer Service and No Name?) explained that the ski lesson didn´t include use of the bunny slope, that is why we have to pay for a lift ticket. In the end I spent 10 minutes on hold calling internationally, waiting for a person that would take my CC number and another few minutes while she processed the charge back. Breckenridge is beautiful...spectacular, but the whole town and most of it´s services are spoiled by their success, clients have become people to be tolerated nothing more.

It was the first trip to Breckenridge for my wife and I. Most of the runs and lifts were closed due an an early season lack of snow. The runs we did ski were varied, interesting, and in relatively good condition. The signage was adequate for first-time guests.
There weren't any lift lines but the slopes were crowded and seemed to have an unusually high percentage of reckless/fast/marginally out-of-control skiers. This is a big problem and something the resort needs to address. My wife was hit twice and we both had several near misses. I asked a couple of staffers if the resort was unusually crowded the response was that it's about average and it gets worse. Maybe it's because they're only an hour from a major city.
Because Breckenridge doesn't have a lot of vertical there isn't a second tier of lifts where refuge from Kamikaze skiers can often be found. The only refuge I found was in the bumps.
One last criticism, their on-mountain food was mediocre at best and restaurant staffing was far below what was needed.
We skied for five straight days and had fun. If I lived nearby I'd ski there as often as possible but for those seeking a ski destination, there are better options.

I have small children that do not know how to ski and won't last long anyway. Are the bunny slopes at Breckenridge free or will I have to pay a normal lift ticket for them to just use the bunny slopes?

If I do a group lesson and include a lift ticket when I buy as a bundle, can I use that lift ticket a different day? i.e. i will be in town from Jan 20-24, im wanting to do a half day of lessons on Friday the 21, and then use my life ticket on the 23rd. I can’t get ahold of anyone via the phone for the resort to ask. Hoping one of you might be able to help! Thanks!

Hi! Is it safe to assume the 4 O'Clock run and Snowflake lift will be open before Thanksgiving?
We are looking to book an early season (11/20-24) trip to Breck and were hoping to stay along the 4 O'Clock run again because it made traveling with kids *so* easy the last time we were there (Feb 2019). I know Peak 8 is the first to open (scheduled for 11/11/21), but my husband blew my mind this morning when he asked if I expect the run & lift to be open.
Thanks and here's hoping for tons of snow this winter!

my boyfriend and I are planning our first ski trip and don't really know how to prepare. Would it be better to rent skis and equipment there or else where?

You might save a couple of dollars renting in Denver, but schlepping the stuff is a real pain. In my opinion, best to rent at the mountain.

I'll be visiting Breckenridge and skiing for the first time in a couple of weeks. I will definitely be sticking to the green slopes, but I was wondering if it is possible to ride the lifts up to the higher peaks and just stay on the lifts (rather than skiing down). Never having been to the mountains, this is all new to me.

We rode gondolas up and down the mountain - there is a stop in the middle and then a stop near the top...then it switches to chair lifts. Near the top is a great ski lodge for food and drink. Fun location to watch skiiers come down. Enjoy!

Well there is nothing FREE in Breckenridge- If you are asking about free parking the only place I know that is free in town is parking at the elementary school lot behind Carter Park. They have instituted paid parking everywhere now. It is revenue generating

Good Morning from London UK
We are considering a ski trip next Winter, to USA
We have noted various good and bad comments over Beckenridge
In the various photographs, all the lifts appear to be the old fashioned steel chair lifts which lead to long queues
Would this be correct?
Also we have noted that nightly slope grooming seems to be on a rotation method and that not every slope is groomed at the end of each day
Would this be correct
We hope you are able to find a few moments to advise us
Our Best Wishes( from a very damp London! )

The lifts are the old standard lifts but in good condition.
The slopes are groomed in rotation.
Is there any other activity either there or near there besides skiing or snowboarding?
I tried skiing and is not my thing im not good at it but my family who does ski wants to go there so im debating if i should come along or not
Thanks for the answer and info
