The Boreas pass road is great for a day trip from Breckenridge. It is a dirt road, but is suitable for any type of car - no need for a 4-wheel drive. It is also a great place for a bike ride. There is a...More

We drove this road several times between the town of Breckenridge and The Lodge. It was a very easy drive.

The road was originally a narrow gauge railroad line connecting Como and Breck. As such the grade is never that steep making it excellent for pedaling, cross country skiing and the like. I've driven this road in the fall for fantastic foliage and snowshoed and...More

We did not intend nor plan to do this drive when we were in Breckenridge but a couple of locals told us about it. The views are AMAZING and getting to see the continental divide is not something to pass up! Trust me, just take...More

Climbing up to the Boreas Pass from Breckenridge should most definitely be on the "must do" list. First you get sweeping views of The Resort and the town. As you climb higher and higher the temperature fluctuates, leaves become more golden, the Aspens are everywhere,...More

The full loop is about three hours. There are some gorgeous views. There are places where the road is very rough and bumpy. It snowed which made nice pictures for us at the pass. We saw some elk crossing the road and heading down the...More

Beautiful country. You are able to get the feeling of being out in the wilderness. We were lucky to go on a Tuesday afternoon so there were few other vehicles on the pass. While many folks turn around at the summit we elect to drive...More
