Downstairs at the Hotel Boulderado, License No 1 is a speakeasy bar the purportedly as the first alcohol license issued. Dark and classic with the club room chairs etc., it is a great place to stop for a martini, manhattan, or....? Happy hour from 5-7...More

Very cool vibe down in a dark corner of Boulder. Great selection of liquors and good service to go with it. The bar is separated into small sitting areas with big wing back chairs and couches without a booming soundtrack to yell over. People were...More

This historic location in my hometown of Boulder has real potential, but the surly bartender and crappy service make it a "no go" for me. The food was tasty, but you can get it anywhere else in the Boulderado, so why bother with the rudeness?...More

This was my first time at this venue. (Apparently, it was previously under another name before but has been remodeled and rebranded as a more hip cocktail spot.) Located underneath the Boulderado Hotel is the brick-walled basement catacomb of a bar, called License No 1....More

I enjoyed my drinks, well made. The photo booth is always fun (2 strips for $5). Ambiance was nice, dark. Area was clean. A little bit of an older crowd which is nice to break away from the college scene.

This has a fun atmosphere. Wood decorated bar with pool table. Classy place in the Hotel Boulderado.

Tucked away in the basement of this Hotel is a great little Pub! License #1, they got their name from receiving the first liquor license after Prohibition. Looks like it is right out of the 1930’s. Very good Pub Grub and plenty of beers on...More

License No. 1, an historic bar in the bowels the Hotel Boulderado, should be a prime spot for a cozy drink. It had a glorious past as the trashy Catacombs, a short step up from a dive bar, but at least it was an honest...More

I went here with friends for a night cap drink. I ordered a hot toddy, which was delicious. It would also be a place I would return to at any hour to hang out with friends. Seems like a secret hide-away from the busy Pearl...More
