Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went hiking here with our seven year old. He was capable of completing this hike. It did get a little anxiety ridden when we got closer to the top. I recommend if the child has impulse control and good listening skills. This is not a run up run down trail for kids but the views are magnificent. Hidden gem!

This is a steep hike, but it’s only about a mile long. Would recommend to see some awesome red rocks. You can climb up them too. Not many people were here, which is nice to get away from the crowds. If needed, take your time climbing up.

We loved walking from our rental at 9th to the base of the mountain on Pearl. There is a nice park with the creek running through and restrooms. Once you follow the signs to the trails, you can take a few to the red rock formation. The trails are just beautiful as you are surrounded by mountains. From the top you get a beautiful view of Boulder. You will meet locals with their dogs taking their daily hikes. We do this hike every year when we visit Boulder.

I went here just before noon. I enjoyed perching up in the red sandstones and taking pics of Boulder.

We didn't have a ton of time but wanted to squeeze in another little hike. There are trails all over the place and views galore. Okay to bring your dog of course. (This park is across from where you could start your summer inner tube ride down Boulder Creek).

Settler’s Park is easily accessible from downtown Boulder. For non-drivers like us who were just visiting Boulder for a few hours, it was a way to enjoy stunning views and clean mountain air. The hike, combined with a picnic lunch, made for an absolutely lovely afternoon.

Settler's Park is just beyond the end of the Pearl Street pedestrian mall in Boulder (other access points also available). From the trailhead near there, there are a few routes you can take to go around or up to the Red Rocks formation in the middle. If you stick to the lower trail, it gets steep in places but footing is good. If you choose to go up, there are some rough patches where you will scramble a bit, and a few very steep spots. It took us about an hour (with one unplanned diversion) to go up and around, and it was a great afternoon excursion. Bring water.

Settler's Park is located on Canyon blvd and Pearl St and offers an incredible short hike with an amazing view of the Red Rocks. This a great spot for taking photos and enjoying an afternoon walk with family or your dog.

Located at the corner of Pearl Street and Canyon Boulevard, this is a great hike up Red Rocks Trail to the spectacular pointed rock formations that you can view from Chautauqua. The trail is not long but is very steep! The view from the top is quite spectacular though and well worth the effort. After the climb, there are many boulders to climb on and many people sit and chill while enjoying the view.

This is a quick and easy way to get a sense of what the "red rocks" are all about. And it is also a good way to make a short hike into a nice long hike if you care to keep going up the hill. We have taken our young grandchildren here to get them accustomed to altitude and have never been disappointed. A bit of luck needed to be sure about parking -- but during the week we have not had a problem.
Pay off is a chance to swim in the Boulder Creek -- so this is a double pleasure.
